    hi people!!!!
    How are you?
I’m thinking of surprising my wife with new bike.
My thoughts are for an alloy frame and large tyres.

    Proposals?

What exactly do women need differently than men?

    Marketing.
    Well, sort of.
I was working in a bike shop when Trek and Specialized introduced their women's fit bikes. Usually those women specific bikes have things like narrower handlebars, shorter toptube, shocks damping tuned for lighter rider, womens' saddle, short-reach brake levers, etc. It makes sense some of the time. But I've seen women fit better on the men's version of same bike, and vice-versa. My wife has shorter legs/longer torso so she actually fits a "men's" bike better.

Best thing to do is get one fit by someone who knows what they're doing.
