yes ...i went to get the toughroad slr 2 2016 model originally which is the more basic model but is out of stock now in my size till the 2017 models come out...so i was looking at the 2017 models and got talking to the guy in the shop about the better models and decided to treat myself. using the government cycle to work scheme so i pay it off from my payslip over a year tax free so i save between 32-36% of the cost. can't bloody wait...rang the cycle shop just and it may be in a week earlier !! excited !!
Got a new bike for my son! This little ripper has 8 speeds, shocks, disc-brakes, and 24x2.8"(!) tires. It's amazing to see him get up some fairly technical climbs that always had him walking on his old 20" 1-spd. And all for less than the price of a PlayStation and a few games.
I have two bikes an Enduro and a Trail bike My enduro Bike is a Trek Slash 8 and my trail bike is a Santa Cruz Tallboy CC
Hi guys, here is a picture of my loyal companion . I have to confess the pic is from 2013 but aside from the usual parts (chain, some cassettes, tyres and braking pads) it is still the same bike regards Sascha
Last year, some more good trails popped up, about 9 miles from my house. I'ld like to ride there, do a lap, and then ride home. They're too rough to be fun on my cyclocross bike, but my mtn bike has 3" balloon tires that are horrible on the road... Ok, I'll eat my words from a while back here. I'm putting 2" tires on the Krampus. I have the original 700c wheelset that came with my cyclocross bike just hanging around in my garage. But I just bought some cheap 29x2" tires, a larger front rotor, and I now can just swap back and forth with just a simple cassette swap. I still prefer 3" for any trails. Before: After: Big difference.
Hi. I started biking last year, had a cheap big-box-store mountain bike but rode it 5-10 miles a day for most of the summer and autumn. It really wasn't made to be ridden everyday and got some pretty good squeaks and rattles. About a month ago I decided to start looking at something better since I now know I'm going to stick with biking. Ended up with a pretty good deal on a Diamondback Apex Elite, it's not top of the line but unlike the cheaper bikes it has pretty good brakes, shocks, shifters, etc. on it and I can upgrade everything on it so it's a good starting point. It's a $1,000 bike but I got it for $650 with a two year service plan. Unfortunately it's been cold and rainy/snowy most of the days since I bought it so I've only been able to put about 20 miles on it so far but it's a major upgrade from my previous one and I'm really looking forward to putting some miles on it.
