Visited Rose Bikes in Bocholt two weeks ago and found this beauty. A brand new cross bike for the upcoming 2018 season Top notch alu frame with magnificent smooth welding. Almost looks like a carbon frame. Ultegra groupset (R8000), Force 22, Apex, 105 etc. Thru axle in the front, but not in the rear (why?) Awesome orange or black paintjob. Stack and reach that should fit me Plenty of mudguard mounting positions Spectacular affordable
That looks really nice. Can't say enough good things about Rose. I love my RS3000. The welds are so smooth everyone thinks it's a carbon frame, the ride is great and the frame weighs in sub 1kg. Components are well specced and it's great value for money. A big recommendation from me. Interesting to see only a through axle on the front. One of the reasons that TA's are used is to reduce the risk of axle movement in the dropouts under increased braking force from discs. Typically this is mostly a front end issue so the use of TA in the rear is less of a benefit. That said, it seems a bit odd to mismatch. Maybe they are using older spec frames with newer forks? Interesting.
Found some more pics on the ROSE website. Definitely a TA on the front: And a standard QR on the rear: I'm betting they have several bikes sharing a common fork which happens to have a TA.
Seen the bike in real life this weekend and the colors look even better in real life than they do on photo's <3
My two other bikes are going for sale now. Ordered the Rose today in poppy orange! Bring on the winter!
Hi my nane is Igor and I’m new in the forum I’m going to buy this bike with rose 1650 wheelset schwalbe g-one 38mm and some other little things. The pro cross would be a substitute for my road bike that I am not able to use anymore due to back injuries. I’d like to ask a question to Bram, do you have an idea of delivery time? Thank you all Igor
Hi Igor Welcome to our little community. Well the delivery seems a bit of a hit and miss with Rose. When I ordered the bike the salesperson said max 3 weeks. After a few days of posting here on the forums it was delayed until....December due to Force 1 parts not being available. I must say I find it weird that such a large retailer doesn't have this groupset in stock so I am currently making up my mind what to do: either wait for Force or just go for the Apex version as there aren't any big differences between the groupset apart from the weight of the material I believe. Like yourself I am also looking for this bike to replace my roadbike and mountainbike. Looks amazing. Are you going for an orange version as well!?
Yes, poppy orange The italian rose contact told me 3/4 weeks.... let’s wait... In the configurator it is possibile to apply to the apex 1 the rear deraillator of the force and also the crankset but, in my opinion, the weight difference is so small that does not justify the expanse. Anyway it is my opinion not a divine truth. Today I’ll place the order
Order done!!!! Can’t wait!!! I choose apex version in poppy orange colour with rose 1650 wheelset and schwalbe g-one 38mm. So happy
I saw this article: http://granfondo-cycling.com/first-ride-test-rose-xeon-cdx-cross/ Althought it is not the same frame it is very interesting Enjoy
