I don't know if this could be considered road ride, but for me it felt like ... on road :)
First test with Rouvy and I find this app very good. The road feeling was great and the HD video was a great "companion" for over 2 hours of cycling. colasp.jpg

Here the weather is so miserable that I just cant find the energy to go for longer road rides other than the daily commute. I find winter so depressing :worried:

I hear you. But can be very rewarding when you go out anyway, often you see sights no one else sees.
These from a few days ago, about 50km each:
Rain and bright lights from the industries on the other side of the river, magical.
    nieuweregenwaterweg.jpg
Very cold, headwind. No lights whatsoever here, just mine. Like an alien landscape. Will never forget that one.
    hitlandnachtV2.jpg
(Was too dark for a photo, reconstructed it with google maps and photoshop. Gives an ok impression but not like the real thing of course...)
P.S. with the right gear it can be very comfortable, dry and warm

About Rouvy. It has 2 weeks free trial with full access. You can even create your own route based on real ride. I made one, without video, so if you guys want to test it, is here (in Rouvy, of course)

In application, without video, looks like this:
