Photo taken on a long-ish (40 mile) leisure ride around west Oxfordshire last weekend, just after lunch. Trying out the new Royce bottom bracket I've installed on my Brompton, it's lovely and smooth!

    MmmmMmmMmM Royce !!!
I have Royce hubs, Venus and Ultralight combo. Well over 10,000 miles on them and as smooth as the day I got them.

The bearings felt a little stiff at first, but that was just because of the contact seals, after about 10 miles they became silky smooth, especially compared to the stock Brompton BB, which is somewhat agricultural...

Schmidt SON Dyno Hub up front, Sturmey Archer wide-range 3-speed hub at the back, paired with a 2 speed derailleur (so 6 gears), with a 44T chainring, which makes the gearing -12% compared to the standard setup (better for hills!)

Near my city (16 km), in Ardud it is an old fortress which was built in 1481 and it was one of the strongest fortress in the north of Transylvania. Unfortunately it was destroyed, like many many many many historical sites by communist regime. Few years ago it was restored (just one tower remaining from the original 4) and now, every year a festival is held the "Medieval Art Festival"

I'm pretty sure I own you, guys, some photos from Transfagarasan trip. I know it was "long time ago" but I hope you will forgive me.

I must admit, don't climb on bike to the top. I'm almost sure I could do it but in the same day (the last of 3) we must return home and I had to drive a little over 400 km and this means on our roads almost 7 hours. And I was afraid to do that after a climb of 2,000 meters. So I go just to 1,628 meters. Well, maybe next year.

Yes, great road. I had some very good TT on this climb (both tarmac and gravel), and not with bike :grinning:, with rFactor1

Thanks Velo. It was my winning drive at, now sadly dead, VirtualHillClimb league "powered by" (also RD member) Myself9.

@Jim Layee Nice road over there :)
@Jan Larsen just my thoughts too. Laying on back in the middle of the road :cold_sweat:
But, I guess, in time you get used with it :sun::party:

I generally feel much safer on the trike as other road users seem to treat me with more respect and/or fear of the unknown. I was told this before I got one and was cynical to say the least, but they were correct.
