I've only ever owned a hard tail, I do like my 29'er however i am finding there is a massive difference in agility compared to my 26'er. A few of my mates all have downhill bikes, and a couple are road warriers, personally it is entirely about what cycling is accessible to me. I know a few guys who pack all their gear up drive 4 hours for a weekend of chucking themselves off a mountain. For me though, its just get out when i can, and cover the distance i can.
